Day 9: Oslo, Wednesday, June 22

Hello Oslo! After a magical night (the shortest of the year) on the North Sea, our ferry glided into Oslo harbor as we greeted the morning.

Once we deboarded our ferry, Leif was there to collect us and take us into the city, where we spent the first glorious morning of the summer touring this modern, progressive metropolis before settling in to our new Norwegian digs at Thon Hotel Cecil. We then had the afternoon to explore on our own.

Tyson outside the Oslo Opera House, whose angled exterior is covered with marble and white granite and make it appear to rise from the water. It is the largest cultural building constructed in Norway in the past 700 years.

Our group walking tour took us to Frogner Park to see the amazing sculptures by Gustav Vigeland
